Slow Type Speed in IE or Firefox Address Bar?

My Web page loads with decent speed but when I type the URL in address bar, each alphabet appears long after typing in the address bar. I have to wait for few seconds to see the letter I type on the address bar. I am using IE version 6 and XP SP1. I tried installing Firefox but that also showed same problem. Please let me know if someone know solution to this problem.
