How to UNinstall IE 7?

I go to uninstall the program and I get an error message stating that IE 7 can ONLY be uninstalled from the user settings it was ORIGANILY installed from. That cant happen. I deleted my old user account from my computer when I started to have probs with it. I cant even RE download IE7. It fails every time. IE7 STILL shows up in windows update as needed to be installed as well. Thank you VERY much for ANY help on this...

use any third part uninstaller gud luck bye
make sure you in the administrators acct to change programs, if not it may be time to reformat your pc any ways sounds like a bug if its not letting you uninstall
You should be logged on as root admin and that way you have complete access to instal/uninstalling programs. If it won't let you do it that way either then you have corrupted permissions.
First go to the Contol panel and in that click on Add and Remove program make sure that u have checked the Show update Box(which is located at the top of Add and Remove Progarms)..... and serach in that where the Internet Explorer 7 is located and click on that and click On the Remove button.... this will uninstalls the IE7 and regain back to the older version which ur using Before using installing the ie7

I need some advice about accessing IE only web pages on a MAC...?

I have a Macbook, which I find preferable to my old PC in every regard but one: several of the websites I have to use for work are IE 6.0 or higher only. IE for Mac only goes to 5.2 (that I can find), Mozilla does not work for many of the sites either. I know that I can install parallels and windows, but would prefer not to, as that seems a large investment to enter three additional websites. Does anyone know of any program or method that can help?

There's really no simple solution. I've also run into sites that simply won't load properly without IE.

You might try setting up a Virtual Machine. VirtualBox is a pretty good one, and I believe it should also run on a Mac. You could install WinXP on it, and it has the option to have an expandable virtual hard disk, so it would take up much less memory then running a parallel OS.

Mac usually comes with Safari and I find it more compatible browsing for mac. Try with that, and if it still doesn't work, try download Firefox at http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/

I hope it works. Good luck!
Try SeaMonkey or Opera. You can get them from www.versiontracker.com
use firefox it has plug in for ie that will run in ie core.
If the pages are IE only then unfortunately the ignoramus web designers that designed them designed them ONLY to run on IE and Windoze.

Microsoft stopped developing IE for Mac at about Version 5.0 so that is all there is. I use Firefox for OS X and don't have any problems with it even on banking sites. There are some apps that allow you to spoof IE only sites to letting your non IE browser on to them, otherwise go and tell the web admin because it is their really crappy web design skills that created the problem in the first place.

How can you make yahoo messenger and msn messenger mozilla based, rather than IE?

I have two browsers on my PC- IE and Mozilla. The messengers are based on IE. I dont know how that is set up, but cant you change the messengers to be based on mozilla, rather than IE? For instance, you login to mail from yahoo messenger, it opens in IE, but never in mozilla. All the messenger cookies are stored in IE, not mozilla.

I was thinking it is good if you can change it to mozilla, so you can better delete the cookies, history n so on.......

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."

Click "Add or Remove Programs."

Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.

Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."

Uninstall that, restart your PC and you are on IE6
Uninstall IE7 in Control Panel Ad-remove programs. IE6 is automatically there as a part of Windows x-p. I had to do this.
You'd be better off with Firefox 2
i had to do the same thing go to cotrol panel and add and remove programs and unstall ie 7 u dont have to download ie 6 becasue it is a part of windows xp

Did Microsoft forget to put the Twirly "e" in IE 7.0?

My wife said her biggest frustration with IE 7 is that when a web page takes a long time to load, there is no spinning "e" symbol in the upper right corner of the window to let you know that IE is still working. I've looked through the menu's, including toolbar menu's, but cannot find a way to display it.

Did Microsoft leave this feature out of IE 7, or am I just missing something?

Any advice appreciated! (I know about FireFox %26amp; another browsers, I can't switch browsers right now).

Thanks!

No twirly e in IE7, there's a spinning blue "O" on EACH tab as they load!!! That's even better, because you can see WHICH tabs are loading and when they are fully loaded so you can click on them when they're ready. Don't forget the "Quick Tabs" button, that's just GREAT!!

And... there's still the good ol' "progress bar" at the bottom.

Did Microsoft forget to put the Twirly "e" in IE 7.0?windows media player 11 internet explorerOK, thank you for the 10 Report It

If you notice in IE 7 when a page is loading on the tab it has the spinning circle rather than the "twirly e" it is quite a nice touch =)
It is now on the tab. The rotating symbol is replaced by an icon when the page has loaded. They copied Firefox which has both.
They took it out, but when you load a page, in the tab bar it has a twirling circle, and there's still the progress bar.
Nope, Microsoft eliminated the "Throbber" from Internet Explorer 7.

Now each tab has its own spinning circle, so that you know if a tab has finished loading.

Can I uninstall IE?

I downloaded Foxfire 2.0 and Thunderbird, can i uninstall Internet Explorer? I've finally given up on IE. It freezes way to much.

Can I uninstall IE?windows xp

No, you cannot uninstall IE Explorer, It is embedded into the operating system and many Microsoft applications depend on it, Microsoft updates..etc.. Just use Mozilla Firefox and dont worry about it, besides youll still need Internet Explorer to open some websites that arent compatible with Firefox yet.

Can I uninstall IE?microsoft office 2007 internet explorer

yes you can uninstall it...

But it must be your computer; becuse IE is the best browzer.. Firefox will give you viruses/keyloggers/adware
Quick answer, no, just don't use it, and clean out all your temporary internet files and cookies from it too!!!!
Sure. Click START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Choose ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Select IE, click ADD/REMOVE.
I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to. It's just an internet browser just like Netscape or Foxfire.
NO - IE is part of the operating system and cannot be removed.

JJ
You can only remove the icon. It is intertwined with the operating system. It is also needed for Window's Updates. It is not "just a browser". It can't be removed and you will not find it in add/delete programs.

BTW: I also use Firefox. It has an add on that will use the IE engine within a Firefox tab when required.
You really shouldn't, you don;t have to use it, but it should not be totally removed as it is part of windows. Besides it doesn't take up any room.
You should Reinstall Internet Explorer 6... or at least make that attempt. You see IE is a part of Windows... and you can't get rid of it. Use FireFox for (not a movie of a similar name) general browsing, but use IE for Windows updates and other special ASP based websites that simply won't display active x without it.

Visit the Microsoft website for the most recent IE6, but avoid IE7.

Embrace the horror. Windows Vista will help drive the next leaps in Internet technologies.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
go to control panel and click add or remove programs and when the list comes up click remove on IE
