Can I uninstall IE?

I downloaded Foxfire 2.0 and Thunderbird, can i uninstall Internet Explorer? I've finally given up on IE. It freezes way to much.

Can I uninstall IE?windows xp

No, you cannot uninstall IE Explorer, It is embedded into the operating system and many Microsoft applications depend on it, Microsoft updates..etc.. Just use Mozilla Firefox and dont worry about it, besides youll still need Internet Explorer to open some websites that arent compatible with Firefox yet.

Can I uninstall IE?microsoft office 2007 internet explorer

yes you can uninstall it...

But it must be your computer; becuse IE is the best browzer.. Firefox will give you viruses/keyloggers/adware
Quick answer, no, just don't use it, and clean out all your temporary internet files and cookies from it too!!!!
Sure. Click START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Choose ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Select IE, click ADD/REMOVE.
I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to. It's just an internet browser just like Netscape or Foxfire.
NO - IE is part of the operating system and cannot be removed.

You can only remove the icon. It is intertwined with the operating system. It is also needed for Window's Updates. It is not "just a browser". It can't be removed and you will not find it in add/delete programs.

BTW: I also use Firefox. It has an add on that will use the IE engine within a Firefox tab when required.
You really shouldn't, you don;t have to use it, but it should not be totally removed as it is part of windows. Besides it doesn't take up any room.
You should Reinstall Internet Explorer 6... or at least make that attempt. You see IE is a part of Windows... and you can't get rid of it. Use FireFox for (not a movie of a similar name) general browsing, but use IE for Windows updates and other special ASP based websites that simply won't display active x without it.

Visit the Microsoft website for the most recent IE6, but avoid IE7.

Embrace the horror. Windows Vista will help drive the next leaps in Internet technologies.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
