Help! Internet explorer problem! IE SUCKS!!?

I just reformatted my hardrive and the computer has IE as the default browser. It won't let me go to many websites(i was lucky i could go on this) all it shows is a blank white screen and it says its "Done". I've tried downloading firefox but it says the files arent accpeted and are corrupt.

PLEASE READ THIS: I have set my security settings to low and turned off my firewall, I dont have any type of virus unless yahoo is the new virus central(anything can happen).

What should i do?

well if u just formatted, and have ur ISP settings correctly done, it should work. just go in network connections, and check the TCP/IP settings for ur internet provider. if they are correct, you can also go in Internet options (in IE, Tools -%26gt; Internet options) and in general tab, in Temporary internet files, click settings, and set check for newer versions of the stored pages to every visit to the page. also, set ur security setting to medium. the windows firewall is crap, so it's good u turned it off, but u still need to use one, and some antivirus software unless u want ur computer full of trojans and spyware
