Are you talking routers? If so, yes, you can set it so that anyone can jack into your network.

Once the account has been setup for your cable internet, then you do not enter your user id or password as the connection is registered with the server you go through.

We have a network and no one uses a password. my new computer connected immediately once it was setup to connect through the network.
Are you using a PPPoE setup for your Cable Internet?

If you have a router, you can set up the router to be the PPPoE client that logs in for you so your computers connected through the router don't need the username and password.
