Problems with Mail in IE - shows error on page?

I am upable to attach any files (clicking on attach doesn't do anything), forward, reply and the automatic address thingy that brings up the addresses once you start typing them doesn't work. It appears to be on my computer only (the one I use at university is OK) and only with IE - firefox is fine.

Any ideas?

Go to tools on your bar. Check Internet options. go to advanced. restore default. Go to content. check your auto complete. Your files might be too big. Or you have an anti virus checking your files before up load. Set your security level to medium. contact through your details.

The Internet can sometimes experience bottlenecks and traffic jams, just as freeways do.

How can I fix my favicons in IE and FireFox?

In IE, favicons appear and disappear at will (only to quickly be replaced with the blue 'e'). In Firefox, they are better, but if you get an update they revert back to the generic blank document favicon until you visit your bookmarked site again. I really liked that feature and I incorporate favicons in my web sites. It just seems like both IE and FireFox (haven't tried any other browsers) are a bit cloogy when it comes to this feature. Does anyone know of a fix or patch?

Thanks.

this blog article is pretty informative about them: http://mondaybynoon.com/2006/02/23/re-fa...

it gives the code for IE and other browsers

note: I just made mine in GIMP and saved it in "Microsoft Windows icon - .ico" format (it's nothing fancy, mind you)

it seems to be working well though. it shows up in IE, Ffx, and Opera. Take a look: http://www.one-tweak-loop.com/

What is this? Cursor turns into miniture IE pg w/yellow box inset w/big red X on it & pg doesn&#

An example , I was in my e-mail in-box %26amp; decided to check my bids on ebay. So I entered the ebay site into the web search bar at the top of the page and clicked search. A blank page comes up with a new tab showing connecting. At the same time the cursor turns into what appears to be a very miniature Internet Explorer page with a smaller yellow box inset at the bottom right of the IE page. The smaller yellow box that's inside the miniature IE box has a red bar across the top and bottom of it and is marked with a large red X. The cursor only changes to this for a few seconds..hardly long enough to see what it is. It moves when I move the mouse. The blank page continues to say connecting but it never comes up. I've tried to right click and left click on the little box but it disappears as soon as I click the mouse. ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS AND HOW IN THE WORLD I CAN GET RID OF IT???PLEASE HELP!!

Your computer has been hijacked. While it may look like it is doing nothing, while that computer is connected to the Internet, it is up to a lot.

You have Spyware or viruses, at least these are the most likely culprits.

You may need to take the computer to a competent technician and have it repaired.

You can try these steps on your own.

Click on "Start"

Click on "Run"

type in "msconfig". DO NOT USE THE QUOTES

Press the ENTER key on the Keyboard

A box will pop up

Look for the tab along the top of the box that is labeled "Startup"

Click on this tab and a box will become visible

In the lower right corner of this box, right above the "help" button is a button called "Disable All".

Click on the "Disable All Button"

Click on the Boot.ini tab.

Select Safe mode and also select "network".

Click on the "Apply" Button

Click on the "OK" Button

When the computer asks to be allowed to reboot, tell it OK.

The computer will boot into safe mode but you will still be able to get on the Internet.

Run Spybot and update it. Download all the updates and wait for spybot to shut down and restart.

When spybot restarts and gives you the interface, click on the immunize button to the left. If is tells you to immunize, click on the green plus sign beside the word "immunize". After it immunizes, click on the "Search %26amp; Destroy" button in the column on the left. Next, click on the "check for problems" button and start the scan.

When the scan finishes, choose the "Fix Selected Problems" and wait for it to finish.

What this does is:

The scan cleans out a large amount of the common spyware, and is a good first strike. Always scan in safe mode.

Immunize sets up Internet Explorer to block known spyware sites from gaining access to your computer. Even if you go to a website that wants to load spyware, your computer will refuse the connection, helping to keep it clean.

Unlike some of the posts here say, Spybot gets along with all antivirus software. Leave it on your system and run it once a week. Be sure to immunize each time.

So much for a first strike, now on to the heavy hitters: Viruses.

Forget Norton and Mcafee, they are awful.

Go to this page, and fill it out, choose the product "eScan Anti Virus (AV) for Windows"

http://www.mwti.com/feedback/form.asp?ur...

Load this up (it will load in safe mode), update it, and scan the computer. This program is free for a two week trial, and you can uninstall it when you finish using it. Or buy it for $25, the best computer money you will ever spend. If you buy it, set up the scheduler to update and scan each night.

RUN THE E-SCAN OVER AND OVER UNTIL IT RUNS CLEAN 2 TIMES IN A ROW.

After you finish go back and choose a normal boot

(Start%26gt;Run%26gt;type in "msconfig" without the quotes, go to Boot.ini. tab and deselect "Safe Boot", then go to the startup and click the "Enable all" button.

Let you computer reboot and have at it.

Say What? Huh? Quit confusing me....
Sounds like you got a spyware anti-blocker. Basically a spyware blocker is supposed to block spyware from getting onto your computer. This does the reverse by blocking normal stuff... most annoying.

Get yourself a copy of Mozilla Firefox (an alternate browser program). Use that to download Ad Aware or Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy (both are excellent spyware removers). Update whichever one you installed and have it scan your system. Follow the prompts and let it remove all suspicious files. Once it is done, try your internet explorer again. If it happens again, just use the Firefox as your main browser. It will actually work better!

How to turn off IE temperary?

How to turn off IE temperary?windows xp pro

go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and rename iexplore.exe to iexplore.bak

rename it back to iexplore.exe when you want to use it.

Of course, anything you do to merely hide it can be undone by someone who is technical and has admin access.

How do you stop IE from saving your searches?

I have IE 6 on my Windows XP computer. Everytime I search for something on Yahoo, it saves the search, so that if I search for the same thing again, it automatically begins to fill in whatever I am trying to type. If I just click on the search bar, the whole list of anything I have ever searched for pops up. Is there any way to clear this list once and a while so it doesn't build up? I've tried to figure it out for the past 2 hours! First one to help me clear this stupid list gets 10 Points!

How do you stop IE from saving your searches?microsoft templates

under Tools/Internet Options/Content..........click on AutoComplete.

To clear entries, select 'Clear Forms'. To keep it from doing it in the future, un-check the 'Forms' box near the top.

How do you stop IE from saving your searches?windows firewall internet explorer

It's an option you choose when you first use your computer or when windows is freshly installed. The first time you use a search bar it will ask you if you want it to remember your searches.
One way to get rid of that history is to go to Internet Options (in IE 6 or 7) and delete the history (you will see a " Browsing History" section). Then go to "Settings" and type a zero (0) in days to keep history. That will help control the history stored by the browser.
In yahoo, click the pencil icon, then click Clear Search History..To clear the search history in your address bar, do exactly what agreesoftware, said..good luck..

Connected to internet but IE can't work!?

My router shows that I'm connected to internet, but my IE still shows "can't display page" error message. What could be wrong? And what can I do to solve it?

Would appreciate if you could be as specific as possible, including steps... thanks!

Connected to internet but IE can't work!?nintendo ds browser

disconnect the ethernet cable from that goes from your modem to your router and connect is directly to your pc....if that doesnt work then maybe its your ISP so call them up...when IE doesnt work it could be so many things so its hard to be specific

Connected to internet but IE can't work!?windows 98 internet explorer

Go here

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=na...
Navigate to Start%26gt;Run in the single line pane that opens up type

ping the_name_of_the_site_you_were_connecting...

If you see some activity and responses, then your connection is fine and the problem is with your browser.. you can type exit to go back to your main windows.. However if the ping does not give a valid response (server not reachable), then the site you are trying to connect to is either not reachable, or you have typed a wrong url

Get a decent browser like Firefox from the link given below:

http://www.mozilla.com/products/download...
Simple... reboot your router dear...
When IE can't display page, always try to get onto different sites. Assuming that you email this fm the same pc when you got your error page. If so you should be able to get other sites. If other sites work then the 1st site error is probably down and you can try later.

Is there a way to move my IE toolbar up and down?

i wanna have my "file, edit, view, etc." buttons along with the icons all on one row but it wont let me. i unchecked "lock the toolbars" but it will only let me move it left to right, but not up and down. when i go on Microsoft Word, i can grab any toolbar and move it up, down, left, or right, but IE will only let me move it side to side.

does anyone know how i can move the IE toolbar up/down?

Is there a way to move my IE toolbar up and down?windows xp professional

Yes

After Unlocking the Toolbar, you have the Little Punch Bar Lines; Move your cursor there; the cursor changes so that there is an arrow going two ways, then left mouse click down at that time, and the middle of the two arrows change to a double upright bar. then drag trhe File-Edit-View to where you want and release, then lock where you want to.

Hopefully that should work for you.
